Meet the team:
Tony Francis Managing Director
A Leicester lad with a love of words, Tony is a highly experienced journalist who has travelled the world. Working in every media medium, at every level, he has covered events such as the Olympics and World Cups for the likes of ITN and the Daily Telegraph. He went onto found Kingfisher TV in 1988. Since then he has written, produced, directed and fronted hundreds of hours of television, on scores of different subjects from the serious to surreal. Tony can currently be seen in front of the camera fronting ITV1’s Heart of the Country and Tales from the Country.
Laura Francis Producer/Director
Laura wrote features for the national newspapers before deciding to move into television ten years ago. Since then she has worked in almost every area, regularly researching, producing, directing and fronting her own features and documentaries. She is a director/reporter on Heart of the Country and Carlton Country. Her latest documentaries include 4 Steps to Heaven (C4) and Life Through The Lens (BBC2).

Wendy Nelson Senior Producer
Wendy Nelson trained with the Daily Mirror before embarking on a long career in print and television journalism. She was the first woman in Britain to head up a television newsroom before diversifying into film production and direction from worldwide locations. She has worked extensively for all the major British terrestrial channels from live studio to primetime entertainment shows (RTS Award 2001) and documentaries, including originating ‘Find a Family’- a six year series for ITV finding homes for children in care which won international acclaim. Wendy is also the author of The Gender Trap – the biography of the world’s first transsexual couple - and Adventure Play for the BBC. 
Karla Pugh Production Co-ordinator
With over 20 years experience in television production, Karla Pugh, is an organiser extraordinaire who has worked alongside some of the most famous names in UK broadcasting. Tom Jones, Kevin Whatley, Jane Asher, Frankie Howard, Neil Morrisey, Richard Griffiths, Warren Clarke, Dennis Waterman have all been kept in line by Karla, ensuring their shows ran smoothly, on-time and on-budget. Karla currently oversees all aspects of production organisation.



Ian Griffiths
A trained journalist, Ian wrote for his local newspaper before moving onto television working on projects alongside the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Monty Don, Ken Hom and even the lions of Longleat!
Since joining Kingfisher, he has researched numerous items on subjects as diverse as reclusive Kentish Monks to the Chinese Rail Network.
 
Jayne Stubbs
Financial wizard, horsewoman, farmer, mother of three Jayne was multi-tasking before the term was invented. Since the beginning, she has been keeper of the Kingfisher purse-strings. Jayne's horticultural heritage is a constant source of stories and surprise.
